Gold Coast Sporting Hall of Fame

The region´s proud sporting history and its champion athletes are celebrated at the Sporting Hall of Fame in Southport´s Owen Park. It´s open every Wednesday from 9am until noon and Sundays from 10am to 4pm. Entry is free (gold coin donation appreciated). Special functions or dinners available.

Visitors can expect to see on display some of Dick's most famous race cars, including the XD Tru-Blu Falcon that hit 'the Rock' and the XE Greens-Tuf Falcon that won 1984 ATCC Championship. The famous 'rock' and other memorabilia are also displayed in the museum which is a must for every V8 Supercar fan.

The Tokonoma Fine Art Gallery and Green Tea House specialises in minimalist Japanese ink art and also holds regularly changing exhibitions of both Japanese and Australian artists working in various media. Visitors to the gallery can enjoy beautiful tranquil surroundings and refreshments from the Green Tea Cafe, which is Queensland's first and serves unusual drinks and desserts, merging Japanese and Australian flavours. There is also a small lunch menu on offer whilst catering for functions can be provided.

 Exhibits include the Pioneer Cottage, furnished in a style portraying early pioneering life, horse-drawn vehicles and farm implements. A prized exhibit is the buggy the Duchess of York rode in during her visit in 1927.

Yugambeh Museum

Explore the history of the Yugambeh Aboriginal people at this popular museum at Beenleigh. Open Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm. Educational lectures available for all school ages. Bookings compulsory.


Gold Coast City Art Gallery

Home to an extensive collection of works including ceramics and host to some of Australia’s most prestigious art prizes.  Tours are available Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm and weekends and public holidays 11am to 5pm. Tours are free however bookings essential. 

Robina Art Gallery

The Robina Gallery at the Robina Community Centre exhibits local art. It's free to visit. Check out the What’s On events calendar on Gold City Council’s website for details.

Step back in time and learn about the region´s early settlers and see some historical buildings. One of the area´s first pioneering slab homes is on display with memorabilia and machinery dating back to the 19th century. Open first Sunday every month 1pm to 5pm from March through to November.
