Albert River, is Queensland's boutique wine region. The Gold Coast Hinterland Wine Country is a spectacular wine region featuring boutique wineries and vineyards producing award-winning wines. The cellar doors and restaurants of this region operate from historic homesteads and buildings, and offer the visitor an exceptional wine tourism experience. This impressive wine region is situated a short half hour from the GoldCoast and an hour from Brisbane

The Queensland wine industry has developed enormously over the last few years. The investment has paid off and some high quality
Queensland wines are now coming to the market. The Gold Coast Hinterland is a boutique wine growing region just half an hour inland from the coast. Wine based events through the year include the Gold Coast Hinterland Budburst Festival in September, the Gold Coast Hinterland Harvest Festival from February to April and numerous opera and jazz events take place.

The Gold Coast's hinterland wine region offers the thrill of discovery to visitors who explore this growing industry. Wineries present educational experiences in wine making and the opportunity to purchase boutique wines, some of which are sold exclusively at cellar doors.

Some of the Gold Coast's wineries are housed in Queensland's oldest heritage buildings or in buildings that were transformed from grand old churches and nunneries. All of which are just a part of the unique experience offered.

The Hinterland contains an amazing 29 national parks and nature reserves, World Heritage-listed national parks and Australia's largest area of subtropical rainforest. Also located in this area is Queensland's fastest growing wine region being the Gold Coast Hinterland Wine Country featuring boutique wineries and vineyards. All of these wineries offer an excellent wine tourism experience with cellar door tastings, sales and restaurants.

The cellar doors are filled with people passionate about
Queensland
wine and enjoying a glass in the glorious hinterland country. Here the welcome to visitors is as important as the wine and gourmet food served. The Gold Coast Hinterland Wine Country aims to demystify wine - taking a relaxed, informative and "at home" approach to their wine tastings. Many of the wineries offer superb restaurants, cheese tastings, gourmet picnics, as well as winery and vineyard tours. Educational wine and food tastings are also available. Group tours are welcome, as are individual travellers.

The Gold Coast Hinterland is one of
Queensland
's fastest growing wine regions and we are already making our mark with state, national and international wine and tourism awards.  All wineries and vineyards are open for wine tasting, group tours, and a variety of dining choices, with many hosting live entertainment on weekends.

Tours are available through the area which take you on a spectacular scenic journey taking in the the rainforest beauty of Mt Tamborine and the emerald green countryside of
Albert River
and Canungra. Stopping at a choice of wineries and locations there is plenty of time to relax, enjoy the countryside and sample the wine tastings. The area is also noted for it's unique arts and crafts along what is called the Gallery Walk.
